Nino was our inspired and impassioned guide on our 3 hour hike along the Amalfi Coast, Path of the Gods. Our guided tour was incredibly informative and educational. The history of the region, it’s people, the plants and spectacular scenery came to life through Nino’s narrative. He is passionate and knowledgeable and humorous.
He was not only a guide but Sherpa and photographer as well. We had a lovely surprise about 1/2 way through our climb which made the day even more special!
The proprietor ‘s of the cafe we stopped at before and after for refreshments and restroom breaks were kind and made amazing cappuccinos and limoncello spritz’s.
This day was certainly a highlight for our family of 7.

Who knew when we booked this hike that it would be a highlight of our experience in the Amalfi coast? The path was exquisitely beautiful and the brunch served by the guides felt so special and was so fresh and uplifting with traditional anti pasta! Our hosts enabled us to feel like it would have been to be a shepherd for thousands of years in the region. But the jewel in the whole experience was our guide Giovanni. His English and the way he shared with us parlance, politics and Italian movies was par non. This was absolutely the best tour guide experience we have ever had. And given that Giovannni speaks 5 languages (fluent in each I’m sure) and several times literally handed me his arm in the walk up the mountain—and filled my water bottle to boot—I would have to say that his mother must be the proudest mama in all of Italy! This hike was so enriching on every level!

I grew up in Sorrento, but now live in the faraway America. So when I came back this summer I decided to hike the spectacular Amalfi coastline, on the path of the Gods. Fulvio was a stellar guide, very knowledgeable, kind, and prepared (he provided me a hiking stick, backpack, and sun-hat, which I honestly had not thought of!). Given his classical studies background, he added so many wonderful bits of history and mythology, from Odysseus to the sirens, who are said to have populated this area. Fulvio even introduced us to the shepard’s hut up high on the mountain: the most special lunch: pan-toasted bruschetta with fresh tomatoes, the recently made goat cheese, pear jam, and fragrant local wine, all overseeing the blue Mediterranean sea and gorgeous Capri in the distance. And then, we picked fresh mulberries from a tree on the path. Heavenly! We really felt like Olympic gods enjoying the best hike ever. I highly recommend Sorrento hiking as a special part of a visit in this area, be it winter or summer, to escape the crowds and elevate your trip.
