If you enjoy being by the sea and soaking in all of the sun don’t forget to bring your swimsuit and beach towel. The sea temperature in May is much more enjoyable and if you’re looking to relax you can spend a day in Marina Piccola or simply enjoy a delicious lunch in from of the spectacular view of the Gulf of Naples. In Sorrento’s Marina Piccola, there are four private beach clubs: Peter’s Beach, Marameo, Leonelli’s Beach and Da Salvatore where you can rent a sun lounger or chair and umbrella for around €12. What to Pack
Don’t forget to leave some space in your suitcase for your swimming costume and beach towel, the water in May is much warmer in Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast. If you’re not looking to be exposed to the chance of wind or a cool breeze but still want to spend a day at the beach we recommend you to visit Meta di Sorrento and Marine del Cantone as both beaches are protected from the wind, here you can swim and spend a lovely day by the sea.

- Good walking shoes and flip flops
- Backpack or Travel bag when exploring the Amalfi Coast towns

The island of Capri and the Amalfi Coast officially start to come to life in May after the cold winter season, the temperature is great for swimming in the crystal waters and you will not have the crowds of the summer season as the peak season has only just started. The Pompeii Ruins is also another great reason to visit, due to the mild weather it will be much more comfortable and enjoyable for you to visit and complete the 2 hour walk in comparison to the hot summer months which also brings crowds of guests.
